Why to participate in youth football tournaments?
There are many youth tournaments nowadays, some larger, some smaller, but all of the tournaments have pretty much the same goals for the young footballers. I will point out 8 main reasons, why young footballers have to attend some international football tournaments.
1. Team, player, and parent bonding. Regardless of what anyone says about tournaments, good or bad, there is a lot of team bonding. Players love it because they get to spend extra time with their teammates for days between the games and training sessions. It’s always fun to meet new friends from other teams and countries during the tournament.
It’s also great way for parents, coaches and other representative, who also get a chance to interact and get to know each other.
2. Coaches can evaluate how the team adjusts between games. This is a good way to get a few games in one weekend and get to see players play in different positions and see how they perform in certain situations. Most of this is tactical evaluation, however it helps to analyze the team’s performance.
3. Competition. Competition is one of the reason’s that kids get into playing football. Kids love attending the tournament, because it’s fun and they know each game means something for them and for the whole team.
4. Kids as well as some adults and coaches love to travel. Football tournaments offer a chance to get away for a week(end) and do a “vacation” with the kids. Usually during the tournament there are a lot of free time, so the kids and family get some time to hang out and possibly go do some sightseeing and other fun activities depending on the location.
5. Compete against the teams all around the world. Another reason to attend international tournaments is to play other teams not in your area. New competition brings about some exciting times and brings out the best in many kids. It’s also interesting to see, the older the players get, the more they understand the meaning of representing their club and country with pride.
6. Can be beginning for pro career. There are many football tournaments, where are a lot of scouts from some of the top European football clubs. It’s a great way for the players to be seen by different scouts, agents as well coaches.
7. TROPHIES AND FAME! Finally, many coaches and parents may not want to admit this, but tournaments allow you to win trophies! No one can deny how much kids love trophies. That’s one of the reasons many organizations give out participation awards. Despite of just getting an award, for the winning teams there will follow a feeling like a star, when photographers are taking pictures and you can stand in front of many people up in the podium.
With all these benefits from playing in international tournaments, there shouldn’t be much thinking, but to search a suitable tournament for the team and hit the road.
